Reverend Alyce Parmer is a magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Florida State University and holds a Masters degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. She is a member of the Florida Conference United Methodist Church clergy.
Reverend Parmer has two clergy appointments in the Northwest District of the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. She serves as pastor to Lake Jackson United Methodist Church in northwest Tallahassee. She also serves as Executive and Spiritual Director for Wisdom’s Wellspring, a Northwest District Advance Special ministry located in east Tallahassee, whose mission and vision is to equip young women with wisdom to lead holy and wholesome lives and become transformational community leaders. This ministry is a two-year residential program focused on young women whose life circumstances put them at high risk for dependency thinking and living in poverty or homelessness.
She also serves on the board of directors for Community Cares, a ministry serving the poor in Gadsden County and she provides pastoral counseling to clients of Chelsea House, a temporary shelter for homeless women in Tallahassee, Florida. Reverend Parmer makes her home in Havana, Florida with her husband, Bud to whom she has been married for 30 years. They are parents and grandparents to five grown children and 10 grandchildren.
